Getting There

Flying into Louis Armstrong New Orleans Airport (MSY), there are a few different ways to get to our conference venue. Taxis for 1-2 passengers are available for a flat rate of $36 for trips into the city (3+ is $15/person). Ride-sharing services also pick up from the airport's Ground Transportation Center.

There is also an airport bus that brings you into the city, the E-2 bus ($2 one-way) will take passengers to the intersection of Tulane/Loyola, about a mile away from our conference hotel. From there, you can either walk the one mile through downtown New Orleans, or walk two blocks to Canal/Rampart and catch the #47 streetcar ($1.25 one-way) to the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.

We have a dedicated hotel room block for RubyConf 2017 attendees at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside! Click below and select "Attendee" to book our discounted rooms ($219/night), which are available through Fri, Oct 20.

Located right on the Mississippi River and a mere two blocks from the start of the French Quarter, we're excited to be in the heart of the city, with its incredible bounty of world-famous restaurants, lively nightlife, and the je ne sais quoi that you can only find in NOLA.

Getting Around

The best way to get around New Orleans is by foot, whether you choose to walk, march, or dance around the historic streets!

But for those looking for alternatives, there are multiple streetcar lines that have stops near the hotel, including the #2 Riverfront and the #48 Canal - City Park/Museum.

Bicycles are also a great way to get around, and can be rented from shops throughout the French Quarter.
