Timing

January 11, 10:00 AM - January 12, 4:00 PM EDT.

Attendees will receive an email containing access to the Home Edition Slack channel, instructions on navigating the Hopin virtual platform, and a watch party schedule. This virtual event is an opportunity for Rubyists worldwide to (re)connect.

Ticket Types

Individual: $150

This ticket is for attendees who are purchasing and financing their own tickets. We encourage nonprofit employees to register for the Individual ticket, even if your ticket is being funded by your employer.

Corporate: $350

This ticket is for attendees whose companies are purchasing and financing their tickets for them.

Supporter: $1,000

This ticket has the same benefits as Individual/Corporate, but provides added support to our Opportunity Scholars and conference operations. Supporters are acknowledged on our Sponsors page.

Watch Party: $1,500

This ticket is ideal for a group viewing of RubyConf pre-recorded content. Watch Party includes conference memorabilia.

How to Hopin

Access to Home Edition will start at Midnight (Eastern Time) on Wednesday, January 11. The first event will start at 10:00 AM Eastern.

Access Hopin by selecting “ENTER THE EVENT” on your Home Edition confirmation email.

If you are having trouble accessing Home Edition, here is an alternative way to enter Home Edition. Visit https://hopin.com/sign_in, enter the one-time code, see the Home Edition in the dashboard and click the event, and it will take you to the "registration" page, then click "registration" on the top corner to see the reception area.

The Hopin platform has FOUR main areas: Stages, Discussion, and Videos + More.

Stages: Visit our stage area and select between the Live Stage (for live activities) and Highlighted Talks (for scheduled pre-recorded talks).

Discussion: Join a breakout discussion around early career, community organizing, and more!

Videos + More: Watch the RubyConf Mini and Home Edition pre-recorded videos, the swag store, and the online job board.

Catch a replay of our live scheduled sessions and discussions. ** Disclaimer: YouTube videos SHOULD NOT be shared with the public until Ruby Central announces their release in February 2023. Only Home Edition attendees will have early access to these videos, and the URL is subject to change.

Slack Navigation

Join our Home Edition Slack Channel and never miss a discussion. Attendees can join the channel by using the link in the Home Edition update email. This email will be sent on Monday, January 9th. We encourage all attendees to pay special attention to the following channels:

#questions-for-staff: This is where you can ask staff questions.

#discussion: channels with "discussion" is where you can expand the conversations happening in the Discussion area of Hopin.

#qa-with: channels with "qa- with" is where you can leave questions for the scheduled live speakers.

#chat-with: channels with "chat- with" is where you can engage in a chatbox q&a with other Mini and Houston speakers. Participating speakers will respond when they are available online. Feel free to leave questions at any time.

2:10 - 3:00 pm: A live airing of George M Johnson's pre-recorded talk. This video will not be available after Home Edition.

3:00 - 4:00 pm: A live podcast recording of a fireside chat with the Hanami core team.

Thursday, January 12

10:15 - 11:30 am: Watch Noel Rappin's pre-recorded talk followed by a live q&a.

12:00 - 12:45 pm: A live job panel discussion with leaders in the field.

1:00 - 1:45 pm: Join a breakout discussion on an industry topic with fellow attendees.

2:30 - 3:30 pm: Watch Daniel Magliola's pre-recorded talk followed by a live q&a.
